STRESZCZENIE:

Artykuł przedstawia wyniki badań dotyczących przygotowania materiałów do hipotetycznej rekonstrukcji graficznej fortyfikacji zamku w Brodach. Zamek w Brodach jest zabytkiem architektury o znaczeniu narodowym dla Ukrainy, posiada znacząca wartość historyczną, architektoniczną i urbanistyczną. Jest on także dziełem ważnym w historii architektury oraz fortyfikacji polskiej i europejskiej. Określono możliwy poziom wiarygodności rekonstrukcji wyglądu umocnień z okresu funkcjonowania militarnego, w oparciu o aktualny stan bazy źródłowej. Rekonstruowano genezę i rozwój fortyfikacji zamku. Wykonano analizę fortyfikacji zamkowej w aspekcie planistycznym i przestrzenno-kompozycyjnym. Ujawniono cechy stylistyczne umocnień zamku na podstawie analizy map historycznych i badań terenowych. Uzasadniono decyzje podjęte na podstawie interpretacji istniejącego materiału faktograficznego. Przedstawiono założenia oparte na badaniu analogii oraz prototypów w odniesieniu do elementów, o których nie ma wystarczających informacji w źródłach. Ujawniono problemy, które pojawiły się w procesie wykonywania graficznej rekonstrukcji umocnień zamku. Wykonane materiały graficzne umocnień zamku-fortecy w Brodach mają na celu zapoczątkowanie dyskusji naukowej, a następnie podjęcie prób stworzenia jego trójwymiarowych wizualizacji.

W trakcie prowadzenia studiów historyczno-architektonicznych nad przygotowaniem materiałów do hipotetycznej rekonstrukcji stwierdzono, że choć ogólny kształt umocnień zamku może być zrekonstruowany z dużym poziomem dokładności począwszy od 2. poł. XVIII w., to proces tworzenia szczegółowej komputerowej trójwymiarowej wizualizacji może być problematyczny. Nieznane pozostają rozwiązania wielu ozdobnych detali architektonicznych, a ich rekonstrukcja możliwa jest jedynie na podstawie przeprowadzenia badań naukowych nad analogiami.

SUMMARY:

The article presents the results of research relating to preparing materials for the hypothetical graphic reconstruction of the fortifications of Brody castle. The castle in Brody is a historical monument of national importance for the Ukraine. It holds significant historical, architectural, and urban planning value. It is also a work that is important for the Polish and European history of architecture and fortifications. What has been defined is the credibility level of the reconstruction of the appearance of the defenses from the period of its military activity as based on the current state available sources. It was the genesis and development of the castle’s fortifications that is reconstructed. An analysis of the castle fortifications in terms of their planning and spatial composition was carried out. Analysis of historical maps and studies in the field identified the stylistic qualities of the castle’s defenses. Justification was provided for decisions undertaken on the basis of the interpretation of existing factographical materials. Assumptions were based on analogous studies and prototypes relating to elements that lacked sufficient information through sources. Problems that emerged in the process of performing the graphic reconstruction of the castle’s defenses are disclosed. The graphic materials of the castle–fortress defenses at Brody as developed are intended to launch a scientific discussion and subsequently efforts to create its there–dimensional visualization.

Over the course of the historical–architectural studies conducted to prepare materials for the hypothetical reconstruction, it was determined that although the overall shape of castle defenses can be reconstructed with a large degree of precision starting with the 2nd half of the 18th century, the process of creating a detailed three–dimensional computer visualization may be problematic. What will remain unknown will be the solutions applied in many ornamental architectural details and their reconstruction is only possible on the basis of scientific research into analogues.
