Conference Assumptions
Conference is focused on the city and urban space transformation through implementation of modern and innovative architectural, technological, infrastructural and environmental solutions.
Climatic changes and their consequences affect the management approach currently taking place in contemporary cities, including changes in the functional-spatial structure, as well as changes in city infrastructure. Foreseen development in spatial planning and management of urbanized areas should face the climatic changes and this issue provokes a discussion on a new model of interdisciplinary actions which should take place in urban spaces. These actions should strive to implement pro-environmental and pro-social solutions, which further causes the necessity to modify the existing patterns and standards used in design theory and practice, as well as those applied for implementations taking place in urbanized areas.
Contemporary directions in urban development lead towards a redefinition of urbanity, as well as towards the development of a Smart and Eco City ideas or biophillia concept in urban planning. These directions for architectural- urban development should therefore be analysed from the environmental, sociological, functional, technological and infrastructural perspective.
Sustainable development of modern cities should be conducted simultaneously with the implementation of innovative technologies , especially where green and blue infrastructure is concerned. Water retention, air flow and quality, the use of renewable energy sources, as well as application of low-emission materials and technologies require cooperation of various stakeholders: scientists, producers and municipal administration.
The conference is intended to present both, research and interdisciplinary discussion on the city’s resilience, synergy and autarchy , together with innovative designs and implementations introduced in the city.
